Assistant Coach, Todd Laxson, joined the UCCS Women’s Golf Team in 2016. He specializes in swing mechanics for the Mountain Lions.
Along with his assistantship to the golf team, Laxson is currently the Director of Golf Operations and the Head Golf Professional at Cherokee Ridge Golf Course in Colorado Springs.
He is a PGA Certified Professional in Teaching and Coaching and utilizes these accolades by providing lessons at Cherokee Ridge. Additionally, he is the lead instructor for Pikes Peak Linkers junior golf program and the Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind golf program.
His skills and knowledge of the golf industry are frequently requested by the UCCS Professional Golf Management students, where he serves as a guest speaker, aids in on-site event coordination, and conducts playing ability tests for students in this program.
Laxson is the elected President of the Pikes Peak Junior Golf program and hosts Conduct Rules of Golf seminars for high school golf coaches in the Colorado Springs region. Adding to his golf instructing credentials, Laxson served as the Men’s and Women’s Head Golf Coach for Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs from 2016 to 2016.
Laxson began his college golf career at the University of Northern Colorado and continued his college golf journey at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. In 2004, Laxson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UCCS.
