Michael Lawrence joined the UCCS athletic training staff on Nov. 1, 2022. He is the primary contact for the UCCS women's basketball and baseball programs.
Lawrence joins the Mountain Lion family from Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs, Colo. where he has been serving as a Certified Athletic Trainer since August 2021. His responsibilities for the Marauders include providing athletic training coverage for home games and practices, delivering first aid and injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning for MHS, and assisting in implementing sport specific conditioning programs and methods.
A native of McHenry, Ill., Lawrence has spent time at Regis University in Denver, Colo. from January 2022-May 2022, helping the Rangers as a temporary Assistant Athletic Trainer. Prior to working the Marauders and Rangers, Lawrence spent the 2021 summer as an intern at the University of Boulder, and as an intern at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colo. during the 2020-21 academic year.
Lawrence earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Northern Illinois University in May 2019. He received his Masters of Sport Science and Rehabilitation in August 2021 from Logan University.
