A native of Poway, Calif., Ashley Ercolano begins her third year in 2020-21 as a graduate assistant coach for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball program.
Ercolano comes to UCCS from San Diego State University. A 2017 graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Ercolano pitched for the Aztecs in 2016 and 2017, after starting her collegiate career at the University of California, Riverside in 2013 and 2014.
Ercolano closed out her four-year playing career with a 5.03 earned run average and a .259 batting average. Appearing in 70 games, she tallied 14 starts and pitched 213 innings. Ercolano held her opponents to a .324 batting average and fanned 75 batters. At the plate, she collected 90 hits, scored 37 runs and batted in 56 runs while going yard 13 times. She posted a .960 fielding mark, committing only two errors on 50 chances.
A member of the Deans List and Academic Athletic Honor Roll from 2014-2017, she is a two-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and was named to the 2016-17 Mountain West All-Academic Team. She garnered National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete honors for her senior season.
Since graduating from SDSU, Ercolano has been coaching the So Cal Mavericks club youth team, as well as the Cal State San Marcos pitching coach.
