Robin Conroy

Robin is a second year MSc Strength & Conditioning student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Conroy works closely with the UCCS women’s volleyball, basketball, soccer and golf programs to enhance the overall athletic performance of our student-athletes. Using evidence based research, Conroy aids in the development and implimentation of sound and effective, sport-specific programs that are applied in the weight room, court and/or field.

Prior to pursuing her Master’s degree at UCCS, Conroy received a bachelors from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (2008) and continued her education at the University of Hawai’i Manoa for independent study in Kinesiology (2012). Conroy has completed internships with the US Army World Class Athlete Program, the US Air Force Academy, and with Surfing Australia’s Hurley High Performance Centre.

As an upstate New York native, Conroy played both high school varsity and Junior Olympic club volleyball, winning a bronze medal at the East Coast Championships in 2004. Conroy continued playing volleyball (indoor & beach) through college before transitioning to Olympic style boxing post-graduation. In 2010, Conroy claimed a Golden Gloves title in the lightweight division, earning her a top 10 national ranking with USA Boxing. Conroy went on to qualify and compete at the National Golden Gloves Championships (2010 & 2011), USA Boxing National Championships (2010 & 2011) as well as the first Olympic qualifying tournament in history for women, held in Colorado Springs.
