Jason Shaver

Jason Shaver is in his third season as the sprints coach for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men’s and women’s track and field teams, but his connection goes back to 2007 when he started at UCCS as a sprinter for the Mountain Lions.

Shaver was a multiple-time RMAC academic selection and was named to the Second Team three times in his career. He was a member of the conference champion 1,600-meter relay at the 2010 indoor championships and was a member of a pair of relay teams that finished out spot out of all-conference honors  at the 2010 outdoor championships.

Shaver was a team captain for the Mountain Lions and a member of the UCCS Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during his time. A graduate of Coronado High School in Colorado Springs, he was a member of school-record 4x400-meter and 4x200-meter relay teams that both qualified for the state championships.

Shaver earned his bachelor’s degree in sports conditioning and training in 2011 and is completing work on his master’s degree in business administration and management.
