Ben Shabb was named the University of Colorado Colorado Springs Assistant Athletic Trainer in August 2018. Shabb will primarily oversee the men's soccer and softball programs.
 
Since July 2016, Shabb held the role as athletic trainer at Appalachian State University.  He served as the primary athletic trainer for the Division I men’s soccer team, providing complete sports medicine coverage.  He also developed and supervised rehabilitation plans for student-athletes, and processed insurance claims.  Academically, he served as a preceptor for students in the athletic training program.
 
As a graduate student, he received clinical experience in prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation, and emergency preparedness in a variety of settings, including Proctor High School, St. Scholastica, Minnesota-Duluth and Wisconsin-Superior.
 
In the spring of 2016, Shabb worked as an intern for the Minnesota-Duluth football program, working with the Bulldogs athletic training and orthopedic staff.
 
He is certified in the American Red Cross CPR/AED program, Graston Module I certified, and NATA BOC certified.  His volunteer experience includes working at the Schwans/USA Cup medical team, Grandmas Marathon, SoccerPlus Outreach in Kenya and summer camps.
 
Shabb earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Wellness and Sports Science from the University of Minnesota-Morris in 2014.  He completed his Master of Science Athletic Training degree from the College of St. Scholastica in 2016.
