Brien Lancaster comes to UCCS after graduating from Montreat College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA while also setting six school records. As a student-athlete, he qualified as an individual for the NAIA Cross Country National Championship and won the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference 3000m Steeplechase. As an active member of his campus and community, Lancaster was the President of the Business Honor Society (Sigma Beta Delta), Vice President of Student Government, and volunteered weekly in Sunday School and at a local orphanage. He also served as a Residence Manager, Athletic Department Assistant, and Assistant Manager for the Montreat College Bookstore. In 2017 he ranked No. 1 Globally in the competitive online simulation: Business Strategy Game. In addition to winning the Montreat College Business Department award, Brien was the 2018 Montreat College Cavalier Court of Excellence Recipient, given to the Montreat College Student-Athlete that demonstrates the highest degree of academic and character excellence.
Prior to Montreat, Brien spent three years at Shorter University on a full academic scholarship. He graduated from Eugene Ashley High School in Wilmington, NC, where he holds two school records, a conference title in the 1600m, and was a three-time state championship qualifier. Through his athletic career, Lancaster has been a part of 10 Conference Championship winning teams. In addition to his role as a volunteer assistant at UCCS, Lancaster serves as the Homecoming Database Assistant in the Office of Alumni and Family Relations at Colorado College.
