The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team is in its 13th season at the current Mountain Lion Field, but have played within the same complex since the creation of the program in 1990. The Mountain Lions moved from the Green Field in the former Four Diamonds Sports Complex in 2005 to the current field, which remains the only remaining field from the original complex.
Mountain Lion Field features concrete block dugouts, a new scoreboard (complements of Pepsi) and a permanent outfield fence. The new field tripled the seating capacity.
Since opening in the spring of 2005, Mountain Lion Field has been among the finest fastpitch-only facilities not only in Colorado Springs but in all of Division II. It’s location, with a vista of Pikes Peak looming from behind third base and with majestic Pulpit Rock beyond center field, places it among the most picturesque venues in the nation.
Mountain Lion Field was built in 1980 after a partnership was formed between UCCS and the city Parks and Recreation Department. It is built upon university land, which was part of a large land donation by Dr. Virginia Tremblay. It is located off of Eagle Rock Road on UCCS North Campus.

- From Interstate 25 Northbound:
- Take exit 146 (Garden of the Gods Road)
- Take a right onto Garden of the Gods Road
- Take a left onto North Nevada Avenue (third stoplight)
- Take a right onto Eagle Rock Road (second stoplight)
- Continue to the roundabout and go left. The parking lot is on the first base side of the field (Lot 576).
- From Interstate 25 Southbound:
- Take exit 148 (Nevada/Rockrimmon/Corporate)
- Take a left onto North Nevada Avenue
- Take a left onto Eagle Rock Road (fourth stoplight)
- Continue to the roundabout and go left. The parking lot is on the first base side of the field (Lot 576).
- Overflow parking -Â In the event that the main parking lot is full (common on school nights), free parking is also available in Lots 572, 573, 574 and 580.
- Lot 572, 573, 574: From the primary parking lot (576), take a left onto Eagle Rock Road (away from the stoplight). Take a right at the next intersection for Lots 572 and 574. The next right will be for Lot 573.
- Lot 580: From the primary parking lot, take a right onto Eagle Rock Road toward North Nevada Avenue. Take a right onto Nevada, and then take a right at the next stoplight. To reach the primary parking lot, there is a trail off of the southwest corner of the parking lot, or you can walk back to the sidewalk on North Nevada.
