COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second time this season, junior Jennavieve Goldsworth of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team has been voted as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

After earning the first weekly conference award of her collegiate career following a standout showing at the South Central Regional Crossover Tournament on Jan. 30–Feb. 1, Goldsworth picks up Week 9 RMAC Softball Player of the Week accolades with a dominant performance at the plate during UCCS' four-game series sweep of Adams State last week.

The third-year player from Roseville, Calif. set the tone at the top of the Mountain Lions' lineup against the Grizzlies, posting an .813 batting average (13-for-16) with 13 runs scored, two doubles, three triples, three walks, 21 total bases, and eight stolen bases. She opened the series on Thursday with a 3-for-4 performance in a 16-8 win, recording two triples, three runs scored, an RBI, a walk, and two stolen bases. In the second game of the doubleheader, she went 4-for-4 in an 8-4 victory, adding a double, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Goldsworth followed with a 2-for-4 effort in Friday's 13-6 win, tallying three runs scored, an RBI, a walk and two stolen bases before capping the weekend with another 4-for-4 performance in a 17-3 run-rule victory, finishing with four runs scored, a double, a triple, an RBI, a walk and two stolen bases.

Currently riding a 24-game on-base streak and 13-game hitting streak, Goldsworth has established herself as one of the top offensive players in the RMAC this season as she ranks among the conference leaders in multiple offensive categories, including stolen bases (33, first), total hits (65, second), total runs (52, second), on-base percentage (.558, second), and batting average (.496, third). Nationally, she ranks among the top 25 in NCAA Division II in total hits (third), total runs (third), stolen bases (ninth), batting average (16th) and on-base percentage (20th) and has been the toughest player in the country to strike out, doing so just once across 159 plate appearances this season.

After being on the road for four of the past five weekends, Goldsworth and the Mountain Lions will return home to Mountain Lion Field this weekend for a crucial four-game conference series against Colorado State University Pueblo on April 10-11.
