Mountain Lions Earn No. 6 Ranking in NCAA Midwest Regional Poll

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team has moved into the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional rankings at No. 6 in the second regular season poll, released this week. Just one week ago, the Mountain Lions were among eight teams under consideration. The final regular season rankings will be announced on Wednesday, April 29.
 
UCCS closed out the regular season in historic fashion, earning its first-ever victory over Regis University. The 12-11 road win last Saturday secured a share of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) regular season title with the Rangers. The Mountain Lions improved to 10-5 overall and an impressive 8-2 mark in conference play.
 
Entering the RMAC Championship Tournament as the No. 2 seed, UCCS will face No. 3 seed Westminster University in the semifinal round on Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m. Regis, which claimed the tournament's top seed and hosting rights via tiebreaker, will take on No. 4 seed Colorado Mesa University in the first semifinal at 4 p.m. The semifinal winners will meet for the RMAC Tournament Championship on Saturday, April 25 at 4 p.m. All games will be played at the RU Turf Fields on the Regis campus.
 
The NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship field will include 24 teams, with six selections from each of the four regions. The championship bracket will be announced Sunday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. (MT). First and second round games are scheduled for May 7 and 9, followed by quarterfinals on May 16. The 2026 NCAA Championships will be held May 21 and 23 in Rochester, New York.
