Records: UCCS (13-3-2, 9-2-1 RMAC), WU (6-5-3, 4-4-3 RMAC)
Facility: Mountain Lion Stadium | Colorado Springs, Colo.
All-Time Series: The Mountain Lions move to 11-4-2 all time against the Westminster University Griffins.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- UCCS opened the scoring in the 11th minute after Charlize Ellsworth collected a through ball and played Taylynn Levi into the box. Levi's shot was blocked, but luckily Abby Stassi was waiting behind her to slot the ball into the back of the net. Westminster had their best chance of the half in the 27th minute when Chelsea Hartmann had her initial shot blocked and fired the rebound low, which was saved by Lucy Kapranos.
- Nine minutes later, Stassi was fouled crashing the box and won the Mountain Lions a penalty kick. Stassi stepped up to take the kick and drilled it into the bottom left corner, netting her second goal of the game. For the half, UCCS controlled 64% of the possession and outshot WU seven to four.
- The second half proved uneventful compared to the first, with neither team producing many meaningful offensive chances, instead deciding to best each other via possession. The Mountain Lions notched their third goal of the game after Casey Tadlock's free kick was blocked by the Griffins wall and landed at the feet of Levi, who pushed the ball past Marin MacKenzie. UCCS ended off a successful regular season with dominance and look to continue their performance in the 2026 RMAC Women's Soccer Tournament.
