Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team made eight three-point shots and shot 41.4 percent from the field as it fell 82-73 to Colorado State University Pueblo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions took an early 8-4 lead to start a high-energy first half as Mario Williams Jr. and Xavier Martinez each hit a three pointer. CSUP would stay close behind as UCCS led 15-13 with 10 minutes left to play, but a three-point play by Marzouq Abdur-Razaaq and a driving layup from Martinez extended the lead to seven.
- The UCCS lead would soon shrink to four when CSUP's Dylan Sanders converted a three-point play of his own to bring the score to 23-19. The ThunderWolves would continue to push, as they eventually tied the game at 27 apiece on a three from Corbin Garver and took the lead soon after to go up 30-27. Down for the first time since the beginning of the half, the Mountain Lions tied the game back up on a three from Martinez but would relinquish it once again to take a 33-32 deficit into halftime.
- The ThunderWolves started the second half on a 9-2 run to extend their lead to eight. UCCS would fight back to go up 47-44 on two layups from Gavin Carter before another CSUP tied it back up. The Mountain Lions would go on to take another lead before surrendering a 5-0 run to bring the score to 52-52.
- The game would continue to be a back-and-forth affair as the ThunderWolves took a 69-68 lead with three and a half minutes left to play. On the next UCCS possession, Martinez would draw a shooting foul and hit both to retake the lead. With three minutes left to go, CSUP went up 72-70 on a three from Mac Terry to spark a 13-3 run and win the game 82-73.
GAME STATISTICS
- Martinez, Abdur-Razaaq, and Williams Jr. were the three Mountain Lions to finish in double figures on Saturday as Martinez led the team with 18 points.
- The Mountain Lions finished with 22 rebounds to the ThunderWolves' 34 with Abdur-Razaaq's five being the team leader.
- The Mountain Lions shot 41.4 percent from the field (24-of-58), 30.8 percent from the three-point line (8-of-26) and 73.9 percent from the free throw line (17-of-23).
- UCCS had 22 points off turnovers, 28 in the paint, eight from second chances, 11 off fast breaks, and 30 from the bench.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Mountain Lions' four blocked shots on defense were the second most they have had this season.
- The Mountain Lions were held to under 80 points for the first time this season on Thursday night.
