HOW IT HAPPENED

  • It was all Adams State to begin the game as the Grizzlies ambushed the Mountain Lions with a 9-2 run over the first 3:17 of gameplay, before growing their lead to as much as eleven at the 15:08 mark of the first half at 13-2. At the halfway point of the first frame, UCCS had battled back, cutting the lead to five at 19-14 for Adams State, with William Becker leading the charge with eight points.
  • The rest of the half the teams traded baskets, with Adams State edging out the Mountain Lions on a 20-18 run over the final 9:34 of the half, as Cameron Kimble paced the hosts with five points during that stretch. Five other Grizzlies also tacked points on the board during the run, as Adams State took their nine point lead into the locker room at the half, 39-30.
  • When the teams returned to the floor for half number two, the story continued right where it left off in the third, with Adams Stat building on their lead. UCCS was able to get the first bucket of the period with a Gavin Carter hook shot, but Adams State responded eight unanswered points following the Carter knock down. Midway through the half, it was all Adams State as they held the 16-point lead, 64-48.
  • Down the stretch UCCS just couldn't get anything going offensively as they made just 7-20 from the field over the final 9:20 to play, as Adams State powered ahead hitting 11-18 during that same time period. Alex Hurr delivered the exclamation with 1:11 to play as he drained a triple to make the lead 28 at 93-65 as UCCS just couldn't find their offense in Alamosa, falling 93-69 to the Grizzlies.
