CHADRON, Neb. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team smothers Chadron State College 100-74 Saturday afternoon inside the Chicoine Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions earned the first two buckets of the game to grab the early lead, and continued their momentum through the first ten minutes of play. UCCS embarked on a 22-18 run over the first ten, with Mario Williams Jr. (7), and Gavin Carter (5) leading the attack for UCCS with the team flushing 8-16 from the field.
- UCCS continued their march down the stretch as they continued on a 28-17 run into halftime, as their lead grew to 15 points at the intermission. Xavier Martinez added 10 points during the stretch as Marzouq Abdur-Razaaq collected six of his own to power the Mountain Lions into the break.
- It was all Mountain Lions all the time in the second half, as the visitors tacked on another 50 points in the second half of action. Evan McKean and Tre Lucia both had 11 points in the final half for UCCS, as the Mountain Lions earned their first 100 point performance of the season to pick up their sixth win.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- Xavier Martinez led the Mountain Lions with 17 points, as Jadon Cool lead all scorers with 19.
- Five Mountain Lions eclipsed double digits with Martinez (17), Tre Lucia (16), Evan McKean (15), Mario Williams Jr. (14), and Marzouq Abur-Razaaq (13) leading the way offensively.
- Martinez had a game high five assists for UCCS, with Abdur-Razaaq reeling in a game high 9 rebounds.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- UCCS scores triple-digits for the first time this season, earning the commanding 26-point win, which is the widest margin of victory for the team this winter.
- For the second straight season UCCS starts the year 6-4.
