Late Goal Lifts Mountain Lions Past ThunderWolves, 1-0

PUEBLO, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team continued their strong record in RMAC play with a 1-0 road win over CSU Pueblo on Saturday afternoon at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium. The Mountain Lions' breakthrough came later in the game, as redshirt sophomore Abby Stassi scored in the 84th minute to secure the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In a hard-fought RMAC match up on the road, both teams traded possession and created several scoring opportunities, but neither could capitalize through the first 80 minutes. The Mountain Lions peppered the ThunderWolves' defense with 21 total shots, while CSU Pueblo struggled to find chances of their own, recording just three attempts.
  • The decisive moment arrived in the 84th minute when Abby Stassi converted a header from close range off an assist from the Sophomore Casey Tadlock's free kick, putting UCCS ahead 1-0. The Mountain Lions defense held strong over the final minutes to secure the game.
