COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team dominated in Friday night's contest against Western Colorado University in their last home game of the season.

- All-Time Series: This was the 46th matchup between the Mountain Lions and the Mountaineers with UCCS now having a 28-18 record against WCU all time.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first five minutes of tonight's contest were close as both teams went back and forth. UCCS would then go on a 17-6 run in the next six minutes of the game capped off by a made three-point basket from Jayden Washington with the assist coming from Keegan Phillips, making the Mountain Lions lead 29-13 with 8:35 to go in the first half. On the next possession, Jon'il Fugett found Phillips as he threw down an empathic dunk.
- The Mountain Lions found themselves up big heading into halftime after David Jabedo made a tough layup with a WCU defender draped all over him, making the free throw and completing the three-point play. UCCS headed into the break with a 40-27 lead.
- UCCS got right back to work to open the second half after Beni Fungula drained a three pointer and on the next possession Washington completed his own three-point play after throwing down a dunk despite the contact. The Mountain Lions found themselves up 22 points with 16:30 left in the game after Mac Stodart threw down a two-handed slam.
- UCCS maintained a 15 plus point lead for the rest of the ball game, never looking back. Fugett, the only senior on the team, collected his last points of his Mountain Lion career on a step back three pointer, receiving a standing ovation after being taken out with the game being sealed with two minutes left in the game.
GAME STATISTICS
- Washington had an efficient 25 points as he shot 5-of-5 from the field including four three-pointers to go along with five rebounds.
- Fungula did a bit of everything tonight as he recorded a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, also having seven assists.
- Five different Mountain Lions scored in double figures tonight with three of them each scoring 15 points (Stodart, Washington, and Fugett).
- UCCS dominated the battle against WCU in assists (16-6), fast break points (13-3), bench points (27-16), and points off turnovers (11-5).
- UCCS shot well from deep going 13-of-33 (39.4 percent) while holding WCU to shoot ice cold from three, as they went 4-of-23 (17.4 percent).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Fungula's recorded his first double-double of his career. His 10 rebounds are a career high, and his seven assists tie a career high.
- Fugett collected his 100th assist of the season after dishing out four of them tonight.
- Washington's 4-of-4 three-point shooting night rises his team best three-point percentage up to 47.5 percent.
- UCCS collects a much-needed win after losing their previous nine contests.
