HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Tonight's game wasn't close from the start as BHSU started the game blistering hot, going on a 32-5 run in the first 10 minutes of the game. In this run, the Yellow Jackets were 13-of-20 (65 percent) from the field and 5-of-9 (55.6 percent) from deep.
  • UCCS fought hard and won the remaining minutes of the first half going on their own 28-17 run that included 14 points from Jon'il Fuggett. But because of the slow start, the Mountain Lions found themselves down 16 points (49-33) heading into halftime.
  •  For the first few minutes of the second half, UCCS struggled to get shots to fall until Mac Stodart hit a jumper with the assist coming from Jezza McKenzie. BHSU proceeded to go on another big run (15-5) as they couldn't miss going 6-of-6 from the field including three three-pointers.
  • To stop this run, McKenzie hit a three pointer as Logan Bracamonte assisted him on the basket. This was followed by a made three-pointer from David Jabedo as the Mountain Lions were trying to cut back into the large deficit with 11:34 remaining in the game.
  • The Yellow Jackets had a response for every UCCS basket for the remainder of the game, as BHSU finished the game on a 29-21 run with more hot shooting (11-of-17 from the field). This all resulting in the 100-69 Mountain Lions loss.
