HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions started Saturday night's game on fire as they went on a 12-0 run in the first three minutes that included two three-pointers from Jesse Iweze, a three-pointer from Mac Stodart, and a lay in from Stodart. BHSU responded right away and went on their own 10-0 run making it 12-10 with a little over 12 minutes to go in the first half.
- A Rashon Barron jumper and a Shareef Jaudon three would put UCCS up seven but the Yellow Jackets would cut into the deficit once again. BHSU would close out the final 10 minutes on a 16-6 run and would hold a 28-25 lead going into the half.
- BHSU would grow their lead up to as much as six points to start the second half leaving the Mountain Lions needing to pick up their pace. Xavier Martinez would do just that he made a jumper with a foul, making the free throw and kick starting a UCCS 10-2 run that saw them take a 40-37 lead with around 12 minutes to go in the game.
- Like they had all night reacting to UCCS runs, the Yellow Jackets responded and surged back into control. UCCS had a tough time defending BHSU in the final 11 minutes as they went on a 28-16 run shooting 11-of-14 in that span and in result, the Yellow Jackets would secure a 67-56 victory.
