  • Records: UCCS (5-7, 1-5 RMAC) | CSC 7-4 (5-1 RMAC)
  • Facility | Location: Chicoine Center | Chadron, Neb.
  • All-Time Series: The Mountain Lions and Eagles face off for the 45th time, this evening, with the Mountain Lions holding a 29-16 lead in the all-time series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first ten minutes of the game featured true back and forth basketball with neither team showing any ability to create separation. The Mountain Lions held a three point lead with 13:41 to play, but a 10-0 run over the following four minutes gave the Eagles the first notable lead of the game. Free throws for Jesse Iweze finally halted the Mountain Lions scoring slump, but UCCS had work to do down 6 at 17-11.
  • UCCS' effort to chip away at the Eagles lead was led by good free throw shooting, especially by Jesse Iweze who hit five of six on three trips to the line. A three pointer from Mac Stodart would fall, and a foul call added a free throw and a chance at a four-point play. Stodart would hit the free throw, and a layup on the ensuing possession, tying the game at 27.
  • Turnovers plagued the UCCS offense in the dying minutes of the first half, and a Jarrett Taylor three pointer at the buzzer was the exclamation for the Eagles who took a nine-point lead into the locker room for a half.
  • Chadron State came out from the intermission and continued their hot shooting, with UCCS continuing to struggle from the field. A 12-0 run spanning back to the last few minutes of the first half allowed the Eagles to extend their lead, which grew to 14 points, at 51-37.
  • The Mountain Lions offensive woes continued, with the Eagles lead growing to as much as 18 when they led 68-50. UCCS would bounce back with two minutes to play in the game, going on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to nine.
  • The late traction would not be enough for the Mountain Lions who drop both games on the weekend road trip, losing by a final of 91-84.
