Nicole Medlin spiked one of her team-high 10 kills to open the set, as neither team pulled away during the first 14 rallies. The Rangers attempted to pull away, going on a 4-0 run to lead 11-7. With UCCS trailing by one, back-to-back blocks from Medlin and Lauryn Shockley gave the Mountain Lions their first lead in the set, 17-16.
