COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs Mountain Lions matched up against the Colorado Christian University Cougars in their final non-conference game of the 2022 season. Two goals in the final six minutes vaulted UCCS to their fourth win in five games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions dominated the possession of the ball in the first half, firing eight shots with four landing on goal. Set pieces off a free kick and corner kick gave Kolby Raineri and Matteo Moreno Madrid chances to break the tie but were both stifled by the CCU goalkeeper.
- UCCS saw two early chances in the second half, following a corner kick, but both were blocked by the Cougars defense.
- The action was back and forth until a CCU foul in the 83rd minute gave the Mountain Lions a golden opportunity, taking a free kick just outside the box. Raineri rocketed a shot that ricocheted off the left post, finding its way to Marvin Putu who blasted the ball into the top right corner, giving UCCS a 1-0 lead.
- The Cougars mounted one final attack, bringing all 11 into the box for a corner kick. UCCS' defense held strong, with Putu sending the ball down field for Raineri who scored on the empty net to bring the game to its eventual final of 2-0.
STATS FROM THE DAY
- UCCS dominated the stat sheet, outshooting CCU 19-5 while landing seven shots on goal to their one.
- Raineri led all players in shot attempts (six), with Ben Ashfield adding three shots. Seven different Mountain Lions attempted a shot on goal in the contest.
- Goalkeeper Declan Domyan recorded one save enroute to his third shutout in as many games.
- Four UCCS field players played the full 90 minutes, including Moreno Madrid, Raineri, Carlos Vargas and Putu.
BEYOND THE BOX
- With six shots today, Raineri now has the eighth most shots in program history (123).
- Today's clean sheet marks the sixth of the season for the Mountain Lions, tied for fifth most team shutouts in a single season.
- Domyan's clean sheet in goal is his fifth of the season, moving him into a tie for ninth most all-time in program history (5).
- UCCS has recorded a clean sheet in three straight games for the first time since the 2018 season.

- UCCS will hit the road, traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah to take on Westminster for their first conference game of the season. The action will start at 6:30 p.m.
