Box Score DENVER, Colo. – Playing their first road game of the season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team lost a 76-58 decision to Regis University Friday night in a non-conference matchup.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maison White hit the first bucket of the game to put UCCS ahead 2-0 from Sophie Abela's dime. Both teams traded baskets that featured four scoring ties and two lead changes in the opening stanza as neither team led by more than three points in the first seven minutes of action. The Rangers started to put the foot on the gas pedal as Sam Deem hit a three-pointer to break a 10-10 tie. Deem would go on to score seven of the next nine points from Regis as they closed out the first quarter on a 9-2 run.
- Amaya Moore Allen brought UCCS within five points, 19-14, with a basket to open the second quarter. Regis went down the court to drain a three-pointer before White found Nation to answer the Rangers triplet, bringing UCCS within five points again, 22-17. Five scoreless possessions later, the Rangers went on a 19-2 run to snag their largest lead of the game, 41-19. RU hit 7-of-11 field goals while forcing UCCS to commit five turnovers and make 1-of-7 from the floor. The Mountain Lions would start to mount a comeback, closing the half on an 8-2 run. Moore Allen hit two layups that included an old-fashioned three-point play as Sydney Nilles hit a three-pointer, cutting into the Rangers lead at halftime, 43-27.
- UCCS chipped away at the Rangers lead in the third quarter, outscoring the home team, 19-16. Trailing by 18 points midway through the quarter (57-39), Gracie Haneborg, Agar Farres and White each made layups combined with a free throw by Ines Latapia to close the third stanza on a 7-2 run, holding Regis to just two free throws during the run.
- The Rangers were able to keep their distance from the Mountain Lions in the final quarter, outscoring the visitors, 17-12. UCCS made just one less field goal than the Rangers, but four Regis' six field goals came from long range while UCCS was unable to connect from downtown (0-for-5).
GAME STATISTICS
- White scored a team high 12 points on 6-of-10 field goals. She added a team high six rebounds to go with two steals and two assists.
- Nation registered 11 points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist. She was one of two Mountain Lions to sink a bucket from three-point range.
- Latapia and Moore Allen chipped in seven points each as Latapia dished out a team high four assists.
- As a team, the Mountain Lions made 25-of-70 field goals (35.7 percent), 2-of-14 from long range (14.3 percent), and 6-of-12 free throws.
- Five Rangers scored in double figures with two posting double-doubles. Deem led all players with 16 points and 14 rebounds as teammate Erin Stroberg tallied 13 points and 10 caroms.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- UCCS has recorded at least four blocks in every game this season.
- Nation's five three-point field goal attempts are a season high.
- As a team, UCCS attempted a season high 14 three-pointers.
- The 58 points are the fewest scored by the Mountain Lions this season.

- UCCS will travel to Pueblo, Colo. on Nov. 25-26 for two neutral site games. The Mountain Lions will take on Wayland Baptist University on Friday, followed by Saturday's matchup against Emporia State University. Both games will tip-off at 1 p.m.
