HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • From tip-off, both teams were battling to find their groove as the scoreboard read 6-2 with an ASU lead, their largest of the game, three minutes into the contest.
  • Both ASU and UCCS traded off baskets for the next couple of minutes until a Bobby Martin three-pointer captured the lead for the Mountain Lions, one they would not relinquish for the remainder of the game.
  • Shortly after taking the lead, Mac Stodart came alive with five three-pointers made in as many attempts which gave him a total of 19 points before halftime.
  • In the closing seconds of the first half, Stodart brought down a defensive rebound and found Cameron Underwood on a fastbreak who finished the play with a dunk and had the Mountain Lions going into halftime with a 49-31 lead.
  • The immaculate offensive play continued into the second half as Jon'il Fugett wasted no time throwing the ball up to Stodart who layed it in to eclipse 20 points in the game.
  • After a relatively quiet first half, Alijah Comithier was relentless in the paint down the stretch as he came down with an offensive rebound and was able to put it back up with a dunk that extended the Mountain Lions lead to 20 with 9:13 remaining in the game.
  • Shortly after being subbed in late in the game, Noah Baca made his presence known as he collected a rebound and assisted on another Cameron Underwood fastbreak dunk. On the next possession, Baca forced a turnover and completed the fastbreak on his own with a two-handed slam.
  • In the final minute of the game, the Mountain Lions broke the century mark for points on the night and capped off a brilliant offensive performance with a David Jabedo three-pointer that brought the score to a 103-65 Mountain Lion lead.
