COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball head coach Lynn Plett has announced the addition of five future Mountain Lions to the program for 2021-22.  Talia DePetrillo, Agar Farrés, Jasmine Jeffcoat, Inés Latapia, and Breelyn Robinson will wear the UCCS black and gold next year.

A 5-foot-6 point guard from Dallas, Texas, DePetrillo started her high school career as a freshman at Legacy High School in Broomfield, Colo. before graduating from Bishop Lynch High School this spring.  In her senior season at BLHS, DePetrillo averaged 8.8 points per game, including 11.3 points per game in her final 10 games, and 16 point per game during the 2021 state tournament.  Following her senior season, she was named to the 6A All-State First Team and to the TAPPS State All-Tournament Team.  DePetrillo helped the Friars to the 2019 and 2021 state championship titles and three 6A-2 district titles.  She was named to the All-District First Team twice and the 2019 6A-2 Newcome of the Year and Second Team All-District.

"Talia has played point guard for a very successful high school in Dallas and brings with her the skills to be a very good college player," said Plett.  "She has the ability to play effectively as a point guard, but also has the skills to play off the ball.  With her desire to continue to develop at the collegiate level and be an impact player for us at UCCS, I believe Talia will be a great addition to our team."

Agar Farres is a native of Barcelona, Spain where she played club basketball for Almeda.  The 5-foot-10 forward led her team to a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Spanish Championships.

"Agar is a versatile wing who fits in very well with our style of play," commented Plett.  "She can play inside and outside and is a very aggressive rebounder and defensive player who can matchup with opponents at multiple positions.  She has been playing at a highly competitive level in Spain and has the potential to develop into a very good player for us and in the RMAC."

A native of Superior, Colo., Jasmine Jeffcoat will join the Mountain Lions as a graduate student.  Jeffcoat received her undergraduate degree from the University of Denver this past spring.  She averaged 3.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and shot 66.7 percent from the floor for the Pioneers, helping them to the Women's National Invitational Tournament in 2019.  Jeffcoat played prep ball at Monarch High School where she earned All-State 5A first team and all-conference honors twice while also being selected to the Senior All-Star game.  A student council executive member, Jeffcoat was named the Student of the Semester four times.

"Jasmine comes to UCCS after playing four seasons in the Mountain West Conference," said Plett.  "She will add a strong physical presence around the basket on both ends of the court with her size and aggressive play on the court.  With her experience and positive attitude Jasmine also provides maturity and the ability to be a positive leader for our young team in 2021-22.  I am thrilled to have a player and person of Jasmine's caliber to join our team."

Inés Latapia comes to UCCS from Zaragoza, Spain.  A 2021 graduate of Colegio alemán de Zaragoza, Latapia helped her team to the 2019 Spain Championship of Regions bronze medal.  The 5-foot-11 small forward competed in a friendly game with the professional league in 2018-19 and again in 2020-21 and was part of a team that won three league championships.

"Playing at a highly competitive level in Spain has prepared Inés to be an impactful player in our program," commented Plett.  "She runs the floor very well and with her length and versatility and she has the ability to play multiple positions on offense which can present a challenge for opponents as to how to defend her.  To add a player like Inés to our team with her international competition experience is a real plus for our team."

A 2021 graduate of Grandview High School in Aurora, Colo., Breelyn Robinson is a three-year varsity letterwinner for the Wolves.  An All-State Honorable Mention and All-Star Team selection in 2021, Robinson, helped GHS to four league championship titles and the 2018 state championship title.  A shooting guard, she averaged 10.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting at a 42 percent clip.  An Honor Roll student all four years, she graduated from Grandview High School with the Blue and White Honors Cord.

"Breelyn has been playing in a very successful high school program at Grandview High School," said Plett.  "Her exceptional quickness enables her to defend and put pressure on opponent guards as well as penetrate effectively on offense.  I believe Breelyn has the potential to become a very good guard in our program with her athletic ability and competitive attitude."

DePetrillo, Farrés, Jeffcoat, Latapia, and Robinson join Alexa Dominguez (Littleton, Colo) and Maison White (Grantsville, Utah) as newcomers to the Mountain Lions program in 2021-22.
