All-Time Series: CCU leads the all-time series between the teams 34-20. UCCS has had the edge recently as they are 6-4 in the last 10 matchups against the Cougars.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In the first half, it was a slow start as CCU had a narrow lead early, 11-6, with just under 14 minutes to play. That lead would be the Cougars' largest of the half as the Mountain Lions quickly took the lead, 16-15, a few minutes later.
  • The Mountain Lions slowly started to build a lead as the half progressed thanks to DaRaun Clark and his 14-point first half performance.
  • CCU hit a three with 1:07 remaining in the half to make it 32-27, but Clark would answer with two separate three-pointers in the final minute, including one as time expired from well beyond the arc, to give UCCS a 38-27 lead going into the locker room.
  • UCCS dominated the second half as they held CCU to 40 points and scored 54 points themselves. The Mountain Lions started the half with a 13-4 run led by DaRaun Clark, Geoff Kelly and Alijah Comithier.
  • The Mountain Lions never relinquished the lead and led by double-digits from 17:35 mark on. UCCS led by as many as 26 points and cruised to a 25 point victory, 92-67.

  • UCCS shot 48.3 percent from the field (28-58 FG), 50 percent from three (14-28 3PT), and 88 percent from the free throw line (22-25 FT). The second half featured one of UCCS' best offensive performances of the season, shooting 64 percent overall (16-25 FG) and 81.8 from distance (9-11 3PT).
  • UCCS outrebounded CCU 40-22 including 11 offensive rebounds. UCCS also racked up 16 assists to CCU's six.
