This Week's Matchup
UCCS Men's Basketball gets set for their home opener with a pair of non-conference games against University of Maine Fort Kent on Sunday, Nov. 21 and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) American Indian College on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Both games are scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off inside Gallogly Events Center.

Last Time Out
- The Mountain Lions hit the road last weekend to take on two in-region opponents as they came home with wins against Lone Star Conference's Midwestern State University and Cameron University to start the season 2-0.
- UCCS found themselves in a battle with MSU Friday night but held on to defeat the Mustangs 87-78 by shooting almost 50 percent from the field (34-of-70). Four different Mountain Lions put up double-digit points with Alijah Comithier leading the way after scoring 30 points.
- On Saturday, UCCS visited Cameron where an 18-point win completed the road sweep, 84-66. Geoff Kelly registered a career high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting including an impressive 5-for-7 from beyond the arc. The UCCS bench came on to provide some key scoring with a combined 33 points as Wyatt Dolberry dropped 15 points and bagged 14 rebounds for his second career double-double.

- UCCS will be playing UMFK and SAGU American Indian College for the first time in program history.
Scouting Maine Fort Kent
- UMFK (2-6) is averaging 73.9 points per game and are currently on a five-game skid where they haven't scored more than 63 points in that span.
- Forward Aidan Grady has started each game for the Bengals as he averages 17.0 points and 30.9 minutes per game while shooting 57 percent from the floor (49-of-86). Grady paces the team in rebounds with 55 on the season and a 6.9 rebound per game average as he also holds the team lead in blocks with six.
- Brandon Ruaro is a key starter and playmaker on the defensive side of the ball with a team high 17 steals while averaging 28.7 minutes on the floor. Both Ruaro and Bryan Gilbert have helped create scoring opportunities by combining for 43 assists with Gilbert dishing out a team high 30 assists.

- The SAGU American Indian College Warriors competes as part of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCA).
Hot Takes
- The Mountain Lions start 2-0 for the second time in three seasons.
- Alijah Comithier registered his fourth career 30-point game and leads the Mountain Lions in scoring by averaging 19.5 through two games and shooting 61.9 percent (13-of-21). In the RMAC, Comithier's team leading 19.5 point average ranks as the third highest.
- Redshirt forward William Becker ranks among the top in the RMAC in both field goal percentage and blocks per game by shooting his way to the conference's second-best shooting percentage (80 percent) and best blocks per game average (3.00).
- Off the bench, Parker Gaddis has notched a team leading 11 assists with fellow senior Johnnie Jones III recording a career single-game best four blocks against Cameron.
- Wyatt Dolberry grabbed a team high 17 rebounds over the weekend with 12 coming on the defensive side of the ball. The Bonham, Texas Native is also second on the team in scoring as he averages 13.5 points per game and is 5-of-14 from three.
- UCCS is just one of two undefeated teams in the RMAC with Metropolitan State University of Denver getting off to a 3-0 record to start the season.
- As a team, the Mountain Lions are shooting an even 50 percent by going 67-of-134 from the field to rank third best in the RMAC. Through UCCS' two wins, the Mountain Lions are registering the RMAC's best scoring margin at plus 13.50 by outscoring the opposition with an average 85.5 points a game to the opponent's 72.00 average.
UCCS Under Head Coach Jeff Culver
- Jeff Culver, who led UCCS to its first RMAC championship in program history, is in his 10th season as the Head Coach of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball program in 2021-22. He's coached the only NBA Draft pick and the only All-Americans in program history in the past seven years.
- In nine season as head coach, Culver holds a .554 winning percentage with a 140-111 overall record that includes, seven RMAC Tournament appearances, one RMAC Tournament Championship, a 5-6 RMAC Tournament record, two NCAA Tournament appearances, and a 1-2 NCAA Tournament record.
