Volleyball Wins on the Road in Four Sets at ASU

Box Score ALAMOSA, Colo. – Playing in their first road match of the conference season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team downed Adams State University in four sets at Plachy Hall (25-19, 25-15, 20-25, 25-23).
 
Friday's win improves UCCS to 4-7 overall and 2-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  The Grizzlies drop to 4-8 (0-3 RMAC).
 
Grace Nelson and Lauren Brown led the offensive attack for UCCS.  Nelson put down a match high 10 kills and hit .238 at the net, while Brown was precise in her attempts, hitting .429 behind eight kills.  Raelynn Edge was the floor general accounting for 23 of UCCS' 44 assists.
 
Edge and Brown were lethal from the service line, combining for nine aces as the Mountain Lions served up a season high 14.  Jordyn Kinsey received 14 of the Grizzlies serves and dug up a team high 11 attacks.
 
UCCS hit a solid .220 at the net and blocked 10 attacks from ASU.  Brown led the front-line defensive effort with five blocks.
 
The Mountain Lions will take their two-match winning streak to Durango, Colo. when they take on Fort Lewis College on Saturday at 5 p.m.
