SANTA FE, N.M. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team completed the conference sweep this weekend as they dominated New Mexico Highlands University at a final score of 6-1 in Santa Fe, N.M. on Sunday afternoon.
No. 2 UCCS (6-0-0, 2-0-0 RMAC) owned the offensive side of the ball in Sunday's match as the Mountain Lions out-shot NMHU (0-4-0, 0-2-0, RMAC) 27-10, and also held the advantage in corner kicks 9-2 and shots on goal 13-5. Freshman
Kaitlin Hinkle totaled six points against the Cowgirls as she netted two goals and recorded two assists in the contest. Redshirt Junior

Zoe Sims each recorded a goal and an assist, as six different Mountain Lions recorded a point on Sunday.
In the first half, the number two team in the country was firing on all cylinders as the Mountain Lions scored three times to take a 3-0 lead over NMHU in the opening 45 minutes. Hinkle netted her second and third goal of the season in the 28
th and 42
nd minute. Freshman
Jaden Davis found Hinkle on the first score of the game for the freshman to freshman connection, as Hopcroft notched an assist on Hinkle's second score. Just a minute later, in the 44
th minute, UCCS tacked on their third goal as Hopcroft registered her third goal of the weekend off a Sims assist.
The Mountain Lions' defense played lights out in the first half as they held NMHU to no shots on goal for the second time this season.
The Mountain Lions continued the offensive fireworks in the second half as UCCS posted another three goals. NMHU had a hard time finding an answer as the Mountain Lions'

Amelia Junge, and Sims all tallied their first goal of the 2019 season. Hinkle found Fischer and Junge to record her two assists on the day, as freshman midfielder
Mitsy Ramirez tallied an assist on the Sims goal in the final minute.
NMHU was able put up a score in the 58
th minute but was held out of goal for the remainder of the game as UCCS held on to the 6-1 win. Freshman goalkeeper
Mollee Swift helped preserve the first half shutout as sophomore
Alexis Walker entered the second half to bag four saves.
The Mountain Lions' offensive performance on Sunday made its way into the record books as their 18 points scored as a team ranks as the fourth most all-time in a single game in program history, their six goals rank fifth most in a single game, and six assists are tied for the most assists in a single game in program history. Individually, Hopcroft's eight shots is tied for the fifth most in a single game as Hinkle's six points ties for second most in a single game.
UCCS will now prepare for a match against Western Colorado University on Friday, Sept. 27 for a 3 p.m. game in Grand Junction, Colo.
