Wang Records Double-Double against ThunderWolves

PUEBLO, Colo. – Padiet Wang recorded his second double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds while dishing out five assists Saturday night, but the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball lost an 86-78 decision at Colorado State University-Pueblo.

The loss marks the fourth straight for UCCS – all on the road – as they move to 12-9 overall and 9-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

The Mountain Lions dug out of an 11-point deficit at halftime to take their first lead of the game at the 7:16 mark in the second half.  Dalton Walker hit two three-pointers and DaRaun Clark added a trey followed by a layup from Wang to spark an 11-0 run in the second.

UCCS' last lead of the game was 72-70 with 5:44 remaining before the Pack scored seven consecutive points to regain the lead for good.

Walker tallied a team high 19 points after making 7-of-14 field goals and 4-of-10 from three-point range. Clark chipped in 12 points, seven rebounds and two assists.  Wyatt Dolberry posted 11 points in 19 minutes and bagged seven rebounds.

UCCS shot 39.7 percent from the floor (29-of-73) and were held to 28.6 percent from downtown (10-of-35).

The Pack, who were led by Jordan Phillips' 24 points, shot better than 50 percent from the floor and long range.

The Mountain Lions will begin a four-game homestand Feb. 8-9 against MSU Denver and Chadron State College.
