Box Score Colorado Springs, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team (9-13, 7-7 RMAC) fell to the MSU Denver Roadrunners (17-4, 12-1 RMAC) Friday night at Gallogly Events Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The Mountain Lions opened the match strong winning the first set, but only awakened the beast as the Roadrunners went on to sweep the next three sets (25-16, 13-25, 14-25, 23-25).
The Mountain Lions forced seven errors in set one while maintaining a .281 hitting percentage. After that the Roadrunners cleaned up the offense to speed past UCCS.
Grace Nelson and
Hannah Ammerman had a strong match offensively with 10 and 11 kills respectively.
Raelynn Edge attained 21 assists on 74 attempts with just one error.
The Roadrunners' Kayla White defended the Mountain Lions offense effortlessly with 14 digs on the backline and three blocks at the net.
UCCS defensive unit worked hard on the backline with
Jordyn Kinsey,
Raelynn Edge, and
Taylor Smith all pulling out 11 digs.
The Mountain Lions will be back tomorrow night at 5 p.m. to take on Chadron State in the last match for the weekend.
