COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second straight night, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team earned a win at home at the free throw line. The Mountain Lions edged South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Saturday night in Gallogly Events Center, 79-78.
Tonight's win is the fourth straight game UCCS has won by three or fewer points. It also marked their 10
th straight win and their longest winning streak since the 2014-15 season (14 straight wins).

Padiet Wang and sent him to the line to shoot two free throws. Wang missed the front end but made the second attempt with four ticks remaining. SDSMT's last second field goal attempt came up short as UCCS moves to 12-5 overall and 9-2 in the conference.
The Mountain Lions made all six free throws in the first half and held a 39-38 lead at the break. Conversely, SDSMT went 4-of-6 from the charity stripe in the first 20 minutes of action.
UCCS finished the game missing only four free throws, 18-of-22, while shooting 46.6 percent from the floor (27-of-58). The Hardrockers (7-12, 4-7 RMAC) finished the game shooting 66.7 percent from the line, missing six free throws on 18 attempts.
Dalton Walker was perfect from the line, hitting 9-of-9 as part of his 14 points. Walker made 2-fo-5 field goals and pulled down three rebounds.
DaRaun Clark led UCCS with 19 points. Clark made three 7-of-14 field goals, 3-of-7 from long range and both free throws. He chipped in four rebounds, three steals, an assist and a blocked shot.
Wang tallied 11 points, four assists and three rebounds.
Blend Avdili led both teams with four steals and six assists. He hit 4-of-7 field goals as part of his nine points and added a team high six rebounds.
UCCS will begin a four-game road trip Jan. 25-26 when they travel to Chadron State College and MSU Denver.
