COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the second straight night, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team earned a win at home at the free throw line.  The Mountain Lions edged South Dakota School of Mines & Technology Saturday night in Gallogly Events Center, 79-78.

Tonight's win is the fourth straight game UCCS has won by three or fewer points.  It also marked their 10th straight win and their longest winning streak since the 2014-15 season (14 straight wins).

With 34 seconds left in the game, the Hardrockers Allec Williams knotted the game for the ninth time, 78-78.  Thirty seconds later, SDSMT foul Padiet Wang and sent him to the line to shoot two free throws.  Wang missed the front end but made the second attempt with four ticks remaining.  SDSMT's last second field goal attempt came up short as UCCS moves to 12-5 overall and 9-2 in the conference.
