Mountain Lions Quieted in Second Half at FLC

DURANGO, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team was held to 22 points in the second half at Fort Lewis College, falling to the Skyhawks, 67-50, Friday night in Durango, Colo.
 
UCCS came out with a 14-13 lead after the first quarter but entered halftime down eight points, 36-28.  Maddie Golla led the offense in the first half, netting six points, all of which came from behind the arc.
 
The Mountain Lions (5-9, 4-4 RMAC) were held to 26.7 field goal shooting percentage in the second half, netting 8-of-30 (2-of-9 from three-point range).
 
Elly Johnson came off the bench to score a team high eight points.  Johnson made 4-of-8 from the floor and pulled down a team high five rebounds.  Tatum Tellin chipped in seven points, with six of her points coming from long range.
 
Abby Feickert made both of her free throw attempts and finished with seven points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.  Emily Seifert and Anna Davern each netted six points.
 
Behind Johnson's and Tellin's 15 points, the Mountain Lions bench outsored the Skyhawks bench, 24-14.
 
UCCS finished the game shooting 30.9 percent from the floor (17-of-55) and 68.8 percent from the charity stripe (11-of-16).
 
FLC (7-7, 3-5 RMAC) outrebound the Mountain Lions by nine, 41-32.  The Skyhawks were led by Kayla Herrera's 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.
 
UCCS will travel to Adams State University on Saturday.  Tip-off against the Grizzlies is slated for 5:30 p.m.
