COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team defeated Adams State, 19-4, on Thursday to earn their first conference win of the season.
The Mountain Lions scored three goals in the first three minutes of the game and never looked back.
UCCS put the game out of reach from the Grizzlies when they scored the final six goals of the first half, going into the break leading 14-3.
Brianna Martinez led with three goals and three assists while also causing two turnovers for the Mountain Lions.
Madison Ellis, scored a game-high four goals off of just five shots as
Ellie O'Brien added three goals.
In goal, Emma Baker picked up the win after making three saves.
As a team, UCCS outshot the Grizzlies 46 to 10 placing 34 of those shots on goal.
The Mountain Lions will look to keep their two-game win streak going when they host Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday at 2 p.m. inside Mountain Lion Stadium.
