Softball Swept by Regis in RMAC Opener

The Mountain Lions were unable to find a win against Regis in their first conference series

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Playing their first RMAC series of the season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team were swept Regis on Sunday and Monday.

The most competitive of the four was the last game of the series.

Trailing by a run, Taylor White homered in the bottom of the third inning to give UCCS the lead as they also drove in Kylie Barnard.

However, the visiting Rangers scored three runs in the fifth inning to re-take the lead before tacking on another in the top of the seventh.

Alex Cook and Whitney Weber each scored two runs as Barnard led with four RBIs.

With the four losses, UCCS slipped to 5-11 overall and 0-4 in conference action. The team will look to rebound this weekend when they host MSU Denver on Saturday at 12 & 2 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. & 1 p.m.
