Tigers Hand Mountain Lions 67-51 Setback

HAYS, Kan. – Playing their fourth straight game on the road, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball team lost a 67-51 decision Sunday afternoon to Fort Hays State University at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
 
The loss was the third straight for UCCS as they move to 1-3 on the season.  The win improved the Tigers to 2-2 overall.
 
Blend Avdili scored the first basket of the game on a layup 47 seconds from tip-off that would prove to be the Mountain Lions only lead of the game.  Avdili finished the game scoring a team high 16 points from 7-of-11 field goals, including two from downtown.  He added five rebounds and two steals.
 
Elijah Ross and Dalton Walker both came off the bench to record 10 points and four rebounds each.
 
Padiet Wang paced the defense with four steals and a blocked shot.  He added five caroms and tallied three points, all of which came from the free throw line.
 
The Mountain Lions were held to a 24.1 field goal shooting mark (13-of-54) and 62.5 percent from the charity stripe (20-of-32).
 
UCCS was outrebounded by the Tigers by 12, 48-36, but the Mountain Lions bench outscored the Tigers bench, 25-21.
 
The Mountain Lions will open their home season on Monday, Nov. 26 against Colorado College.  Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
