Hall Hits Grand Slam as UCCS Falls to Division I Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Zach Hall hit his first grand slam of the season and tied the game in the bottom of the second inning for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, but Air Force used four innings with five or more runs for a 24-10 decision against the Mountain Lions at Security Service Field.

Air Force (23-20) took a 5-0 lead in the first inning with three extra-base hits, and UCCS (22-25) manufactured a run in the bottom half of the inning after Efrain Medina drew a two-out walk and later scored on a single by Colin Ludwig. Hall hit the grand slam with his 11th home run of the season as the Mountain Lions tied the game at 5-5.

The Falcons scored seven runs in the third and fifth innings and opened at 19-7 lead through the middle of the fifth. The Mountain Lions scored two in the bottom of the fifth with Bryan Chapin off a Matthew McDermott single, and Jamie Crabtree on a sacrifice fly by Zach Hall.
