COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs freshman Isaiah Wilson led the Mountain Lions with 16 points and six assists as UCCS opened the exhibition season in a 98-50 victory against Yellowstone Christian College today at the Gallogly Events Center. The Mountain Lions shot 60 percent from the field with four student-athletes with 10 or more points.
UCCS scored the first nine points of the game and added a 15-0 run for an early 24-4 lead against the Centurions. The Mountain Lions built up a 22-point advantage at halftime at 46-24, led by eight points from
Brandon Malone.
UCCS led by at least 20 points for the remainder of the game and by at least 30 points for the final 11 minutes of the game. All 12 Mountain Lions who played scored four or more points. Titus Reed and
Ed Bourke finished one rebound away from a double-double with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Justin Smith joined the offensive leaders with 13 points.
The Mountain Lions will return to the court tomorrow for an 8 p.m., exhibition game with Colorado College.
