COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The No. 23-ranked University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team is set to host a pair of games of the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship this weekend.
The Mountain Lions, who are the South Central Region's No. 2-seed, received a first-round bye and will face the winner of the No.3-seed Angelo State/No. 6-seed West Texas A&M. That game takes place at 2 p.m. this afternoon inside Mountain Lion Stadium.
The second-round game will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m.
UCCS (15-4-0) is making their first-ever appearance in the national tournament in program history as they earned an automatic bid after wining their first RMAC Tournament title last weekend.
West Texas (10-6-5) and Angelo State (13-4-1) are meeting for the second time in less than a week after meeting in the Lone Star Conference championship game. West Texas earned the automatic bid after upsetting the No. 1-seeded Belles, 1-0.
The winner of the second-round game will advance to the third-round, which will be hosted by the highest remaining seed in the West Region.
