Men's Soccers Falls in PK's in RMAC Quarterfinals

UCCS fell on the road to the Roadrunners in a penalty kick shootout after a scoreless draw

DENVER – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team saw their season came to a close, falling to MSU Denver in the RMAC Quarterfinals.

After playing to a scoreless draw, the Mountain Lions fell 5-3 in a penalty kick shootout.

UCCS was led on offense by sophomore Alex VonHolle, who recorded a game-high seven shots, placed on shot on goal.

David Meyer earned his fifth shutout in goal for the Mountain Lions with five saves.

Both teams had 13 shots each with the Roadrunners holding the edge in shots on goal, 5 to 1. Both teams also had three corner kicks each.

The result puts the Mountain Lions' record at 7-8-4 for the year.

MSU Denver advanced to the tournament semifinals where they will play top seeds Colorado Mines on Friday.
