COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –
Cassidy Bush recorded six of her team-high nine kills in the final set as the University of Colorado Colorado Springs saw its four-match winning streak end in a 3-0 loss to No. 22 Colorado School of Mines in the Gallogly Events Center. The Orediggers (16-5, 10-2 RMAC) won in 25-19, 25-17 and 25-14 set scores against the Mountain Lions (12-8, 7-5 RMAC).
The Mountain Lions overcame an 8-2 deficit in the first set and tied it at 14-14. The Orediggers scored the next five points and ended up taking the first set 25-19. UCCS and Colorado Mines tied seven times in the second set through 13-13 before Mines put together a seven-point rally to eventually take the set 25-17. The Orediggers hit .355 in the third set to secure the night in a 25-14 decision.
Morgan Evans made a career-high eight kills and made 26 assists to improve her total to 2,541. She is 225 assists away from a tie for third in career program records with six regular season matches left.
Lauren Brown made three blocks and
Natasha Habert led the back row with a match-high 18 digs. She is 220 digs away from tying for fourth in program records with 1,186 in her career.
UCCS will finish the regular season home schedule next weekend with a Friday match against Black Hills State and a Saturday match against South Dakota Mines.
