DENVER, Colo. –
Gabby Ramirez scored nine points within a four-minute span early in the game and the University of Colorado Colorado Springs held off Regis University in the second half to earn a 74-60 win against the Rangers (15-10 / 11-10 RMAC) in the Regis Fieldhouse. Brittney Hernandez earned her eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Mountain Lions (22-5 / 17-4 RMAC).
The Mountain Lions put together a 10-point run early in the game and led by 10 points 37-27 at halftime. Ramirez had a team-high 11 points on three-of-four shooting from the three-point line, and Patterson went three-of-three from the field for seven points.
Regis tied the game on a 10-point run by the 16:48 mark in the second half, and tied the game again with 13:34 to play at 42-42. UCCS never trailed in the half and made seven of its last nine free throws in the final two minutes to secure the 14-point victory against the Rangers.
Ramirez led the Mountain Lions with 16 points in her best performance since the conference-opener against Fort Lewis on Dec. 5. She added a career-high four steals on defense and went four-of-five from the three-point line in the game. Hernandez led both teams in rebounding and Patterson led the bench with 13 points.
UCCS will remain in the Denver area for the regular season finale against MSU Denver on Saturday at 4:30 p.m., at the Auraria Event Center. The Roadrunners (13-12 / 10-11 RMAC) fell to Colorado State-Pueblo 69-59 earlier tonight.
