UCCS never trailed in the second set and used a 7-0 run and a 9-2 run to take a 2-0 match lead on a 25-15 victory. A 9-1 run in the third set turned an 8-3 deficit into a 12-9 lead, and the Mountain Lions were able to play all healthy student-athletes in the set in the 25-16 set win and the 3-0 match victory.
The five-match win streak matches the longest win streak from 2014. UCCS is one win away from matching last year's total with 11 matches left in the regular season. The Mountain Lions are second in the RMAC and one match out of first after Western New Mexico remained its conference lead in a 3-0 win against Colorado Mesa tonight.
UCCS will be on the road next weekend for a Friday match at Colorado Christian and a Saturday contest at Colorado Mines. The Mountain Lions are 4-0 on the road this season.
