Box Score COMMERCE, Texas – Michael Mansfield scored the first goal of the 2014 season for the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in the second half in a 4-1 loss for UCCS (0-1) to Texas A&M-Commerce (1-0) tonight in the season-opener for both teams.

Mansfield scored the goal in the 62nd minute off a pass from McKenzie Oliver inside the box. It was the third goal of her career and her first on the road. Oliver led UCCS with five shots and recorded the first assist of her career. Bailee Jameson made the start as a true freshman and took four shots along with Mansfield.

Grace Ramsden made nine saves in her first career start as goalkeeper. The Mountain Lion defense was kept busy by the Lone Star Conference's top offensive team from a year ago that reached the NCAA postseason in 2013.

UCCS will remain in Texas for regional competition against St. Edward's in Austin, Texas. The Hilltoppers defeated Colorado State-Pueblo 2-0 on Thursday.
