UCCS Takes First Road Trip in Two Weeks for Tonight's Game at Christian

9/24/2014 10:54:00 AM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.   – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team will go on the road for the first time in more than two weeks with a trip to Lakewood, Colo., for a 6 p.m., game against Colorado Christian University. The game will be played at Trailblazer Stadium west of the main campus off of Kipling Road.

The Mountain Lions (2-3 / 1-1 RMAC) will be playing their third game in a six-day span to start the conference season. UCCS won last Friday night 3-2 against Adams State, and then dropped a 1-0 game to Western State on Sunday afternoon. Tonight, the Mountain Lions will be going for their seventh straight win against the Cougars in a streak that dates back to 2010.

Senior Hannah Levett earned RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors yesterday off of her two-goal performance against Adams State on Friday. She broke the UCCS career record for game-winning goals in the game, and needs three more goals to break the overall record set by Agnes Arnadottir last year. Levett only needs four points (either two goals, one goal and two assists, or four assists) to tie Arnadottir's career points record as well.

Grace Ramsden is leading the RMAC and is No. 14 in Division II with 33 saves this season, and the Mountain Lions are No. 37 in the nation with 6.8 saves per game. She is sixth in UCCS career records and needs two more to tie for fifth and four more to tie for fourth in program history.

Colorado Christian (3-1-2 / 0-1-1 RMAC) suffered its first loss of the season on Sunday in a 1-0 decision against Colorado School of Mines. Tristyn Hall is leading a balanced Cougar offense with two goals, and is one of seven student-athletes with goals this season. Goalkeeping responsibilities have been split this season between Shaya Lawrence and Claire LaValley in every game except for the most recent game against the Orediggers, where Lawrence played the full 90 minutes.

Fans will be able to follow the action tonight with live stats through Colorado Christian. Updates throughout the game will also be posted on the Mountain Lions' Twitter account, @GoMountainLions.
