Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The No. 18 University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball opened the 2014-15 home season with the largest margin of victory in program history in a 98-52 win against Northern New Mexico tonight in the Gallogly Events Center. The Mountain Lions (3-0) shot 59 percent from the field against the Eagles (5-3).
Derrick White scored 22 points in 19 minutes of action with four blocked shots and was seven-of-nine from the field.
Alex Welsh went a perfect seven-of-seven from the field for 14 points and improved his season field goal percentage to 63 percent.
Tim Billingsley finished with 12 points after he made three-pointers on back-to-back possessions in the first 70 seconds.

Shane Jensen led a balanced Mountain Lion rebounding effort with six boards each as part of a 37-31 rebounding advantage against the Eagles. Twelve of the 13 Mountain Lions who played finished with a rebound, and seven finished with multiple rebounds.
UCCS scored 28 fast-break points and 31 points off of turnovers. The 46-point margin of victory surpassed the previous record of 39 points in a 105-66 win against Colorado Christian on Dec. 10, 2011.
The Mountain Lions will take on Colorado College at 7:30 p.m., on Saturday night. The Tigers (2-1) lost in the final minutes to Colorado Mesa earlier today 71-70.
