Mountain Lions Fall in Three to Rangers

Box Score COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cassidy Bush led the University of Colorado Colorado Springs with 10 kills and three blocks as the Mountain Lions (9-9 / 5-4 RMAC) dropped a three-set match to Regis (13-4 / 8-1 RMAC) tonight in the Gallogly Events Center. Scores went 25-14, 25-22 and 25-22 for the Rangers.

Regis led from start-to-finish and made only one attacking error in the first set. The Mountain Lions took their first lead of the match during a 4-1 run to take a 4-3 lead early in the second set. UCCS kept Regis within four points in the rest of the set, and a 6-1 run put the Mountain Lions ahead 21-19. After a timeout, the Rangers scored six of the final seven points to take the second set 25-22.

UCCS and Regis tied 13 times in the third set, and the last time at 17-17. The Rangers scored the next five points to take a 22-17 lead before the Mountain Lions responded with a 5-1 run to make it a one-point game at 23-22. Regis closed out the set with a kill and service ace to claim the match on a 25-22 set victory.

Catlett added nine kills and Morgan Evans hit .500 with six kills. Natasha Habert led the Mountain Lions with 16 digs while Catlett finished with 11 digs for her 12th match with double-digit digs this season.

UCCS will go back on the road for a 1 p.m., match on Oct. 11 at Colorado Christian. The Cougars (10-7 / 4-4 RMAC) host Regis on Oct. 10.
