Hope Whitman led the offense with two shots on goal as the Mountain Lions (6-8 / 5-6 RMAC) fell in a 3-0 road game against Adams State (2-7-2 / 3-10-2 RMAC) this afternoon. The decision keeps UCCS in contention for a spot in the RMAC tournament with games still to be played tonight.
The Mountain Lions and Grizzlies were tied through the first half, with Whitman taking the only shot on goal between the two teams in the 28th minute. Adams State took over offensively in the second half with goals in the 52nd, 59th and 75th minutes and held UCCS to three total shots in the second half.
UCCS will remain in southwest Colorado for a 1 p.m., game at Fort Lewis on Sunday. The Skyhawks (5-4-5 / 4-2-4 RMAC) defeated Colorado State-Pueblo 1-0 earlier today.
