Box Score GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team allowed only two shots on goal, but one of those shots made it past the Mountain Lion defense in a 1-0 loss to Colorado Mesa today at Walker Field. The two shots was the fewest allowed in a conference game since Nov. 1, 2013.
Colorado Mesa (9-2-1 / 7-1 RMAC) scored its lone goal in the 25th minute in its third straight 1-0 win. The Mavericks' six shots and two on goal were their lowest outputs for the conference season.
James Roberts led both teams with four shots as UCCS (4-7-1 / 3-5 RMAC) out-shot the Mavericks 15-6.
Cort Searls added another three shots and
Josh Berntsson took a pair of shots for his most since Sept. 15.
The Mountain Lions will end a three-game road stretch with a 7 p.m., game on Friday at MSU Denver. The Roadrunners needed a goal with 10 seconds left in double overtime to defeat UCCS 2-1 on Sept. 19.
