COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (4-0-0) extended its undefeated streak as the Mountain Lions beat Adams State University (4-2-0) 1-0 on the road this afternoon.
Senior forward
Agnes Arnadottir made UCCS program history today when she scored the game winning goal unassisted in the 58th minute. Arnadottir now has 19 career goals to her credit, which gives her sole possession of the UCCS career goals title. With 47 career points, Arnadottir moved into second place for the program total points record. She needs just three more points to claim the title from Julia Saenz (2008-2011) who currently holds the record with 49.
The Mountain Lions narrowly outshot the Grizzlies 12-10, and senior goalkeeper
Kelly Schroeder made four saves for the win. Today's shutout victory is Schroeder's third shutout in four games played. Behind a strong Mountain Lion defense, she has only allowed two goals so far this season.
At a perfect 4-0-0, UCCS is now ranked second in the RMAC. The Mountain Lions hit the field again on Sunday, Sept. 22 when they play Western State Colorado University.
