First Half Goals Lift Skyhawks over UCCS

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team (9-5-1, 6-5-1 RMAC) fired off ten shots against Fort Lewis (13-3, 9-3 RMAC), but couldn't find the back of the net as they lost the 2-0 decision to the Skyhawks.

Both Fort Lewis goals game in the first half just five minutes apart. FLC senior forward Megan Striedel was credited with the game winning goal at the 23:25 minute mark when she beat Kelly Schroeder with a shot from the top of the 18 yard box. Teammate Sam Weiss capped off the scoring for the day with a shot from 12 yards out in the 28th minute.

Senior defender Kia Jeffords led the Mountain Lions with two shots in the game, placing both attempts on frame. Kelly Schroeder made five saves in the game.

UCCS will wrap up the regular season next weekend with a pair of games against N.M. Highlands and CSU-Pueblo. The Mountain Lions will host N.M. Highlands on Friday night for their last home game of the season.
